This how to guide, tutorial, step by step instruction will help you install and set up TVersity on you Windows Vista, Windows XP allowing you to transcode media on the fly such as video (avi, xvid, divx ...) audio (mp3, wav ...).
- You need to download TVersity software at http://tversity.com/download/.Installation is as easy as next next ... finish.
- Now you need to enable TVersity media share through windows firewall. Go to start -> Control Panel and click on "Allow a Program through Windows Firewall" like shown bellow

- Next the "Windows Firewall Settings" window will appear. Choose "Exceptions" tab then click on "Add Program..." button as shown bellow

- Click on Browse as shown bellow

- Go to "C:\Program Files\TVersity\Media Server" select MediaServer.exe as shown bellow

- Now click on "Add Port" to enable the default port of TVersity media server. Enter the information as seen on the image bellow, if for any reason you have change the port number please enter that one.

- Now open TVersity an select "Settings Tab", it is recommended to let TVersity automatically detect the device but i find it better to do it my self

- Select "Transcoder" and choose to always transcode as illustrated

- Now its time to share the media you want to play (transcode) on your xbox or playstation. Select the sharing tab and click on the plus sign to add the folder or/and file with the media you want to share

- Now go to your favorite console and choose the TVersity server and play your media. If you experience any problems like not seeing TVersity media share from your console try the following:
- From the tray icon of TVersity that appears on the bottom right of your screen right click and select "Stop media server". Then do the same thing and start the media server, yes there is a button that says Restart media server but sometime does not work so is better to do it that way
- Next thing you could do to solve any problem that you may come across when streaming (transcoding) is to disable windows media player's sharing because somehow the console mess things up with multiple sharing servers.
Open Windows Media Player > Library > Media Sharing - Uncheck 'Share My Media' then click 'OK'
- Enjoy !!!
